Macclesfield Town have signed veteran striker Simon Ywo after he was released by Chester City.

A favourite of Keith Alexander, he was a key part of Lincoln’s attack as they reached the play-offs four seasons in a row. After being spotted by alexander playing for Hyde, he had two spells with the club, scoring 37 times in 122 games in his first before moving to New Zealand’s ‘NZ Knights’. He returned to Sincil Bank at the end of the 2005/6 season and hit five goals in 12 games.

That summer he followed Keith to Peterborough scoring twice in 13 before moving to Chester City in January 2007. He played 35 league games for Chester, scoring eight times but was taken to Bury on loan when Keith Alexander was appointed director of football.

He scored alot of goals for Keith Alexander during his time at Lincoln. He obviously knows the best way to get goals from him.
