The Silkmen travel to Nene Park to face Rushden and Diamonds in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The home side come into the game on the back of two 5-0 home wins starting with Solihul Borough and then ending Jim Smith’s reign as Oxford United manager.

Prior to this they had won one of their previous seven, and Macc fans will be pleased to know it was against Alty.

But a replay may well be on the cards as this match pits the draw specialists of the Conference with eight draws from 18 games (six of these 1-1) with the draw specialists of League Two with eight draws from 15.

Rushden have no injury worried going into the game whilst the Silkmen will be without Richaerd Eghill who is out for about six weeks with broken ribs. Andy Teague remains out as he recovers from his broken leg and Jimmy McNulty is waiting on a sprained ankle. Jamie Tolley continues his recovery from his wrist injury.

But the Silkmen will be welcoming two new signings to the squad as Shaun Hessey and Phil Doughty joined the club this week.

That could be a very tough tie against a team who until recently were in League One!! They have started this season very well especially at home.
