Despite Andrew Teague netting an 81st minute equaliser for Macclesfield in a 2-2 draw at Lincoln City, manager Brian Horton was nevertheless not happy as he felt his side were worthy of the win.
‘Lincoln looked like they were never going to score, but then a free-kick decision went their way,’ moaned Horton.
‘It was never going to be an easy game for us, but at the end we were only denied a win because their keeper made two wonderful saves.
‘I thought we did a very thorough professional job. We restricted them and hit them on the break. We just have to keep going. We aren’t playing badly at the moment.’
The Silkmen had taken the lead on the stroke of half-time, with Clyde Wijnhard sweeping home a shot from the edge of the area.
But the Imps awoke from their slumbers after the break and scored twice in seven minutes through Gareth McAuley and Nat Brown to take the lead.
And nine minutes from time, Andrew Teague took advantage of slack marking in the City box to claim a point for the visitors.
