The FA Cup has thrown up many rewards for giantkilling but nothing quite like the incentive for The Silkmen if they beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Faced with pulling off perhaps the greatest upset in the competition’s 135-year history, Macc have been offered £1million by betting company Betbrokers if Paul Ince’s players can embarrass the Premiership champions.
The club have already earned the club £100,000 in prize money by reaching the third round and are looking at another major six figure sum from a 45 per cent cut of the gate receipts from a sold-out Stamford Bridge.
The FA have been informed of the £1m offer by Betbrokers and have told the Silkmen they can accept it in the knowledge that it does not breach the ethics of club football’s most historic competition.
All we have to do now, is win.
Easy eh?
