Richard Walker this afternoon pleaded guilty to an FA misconduct charge following an incident in the Silkmen’s 2-0 defeat at Rotherham last Saturday. The defender will now serve a three game ban which will start with the trip to Exeter City on Tuesday next week.

He is available to play against Notts County this weekend but was clearly disappointed at the news.

Speaking to the club’s official website, he said:

‘I did consider appealing against the charge,’ explained Richard. ‘But having taken the time to bring the charge in the first place I suspect there was very little chance that any appeal would have been successful. So reluctantly I have pleaded guilty and will have to accept the punishment handed out.’
