The Silkmen’s Reserves come from behind to beat Sheffield United 3-2 thanks to two late goals.

With Keith Alexander in attendance to run the rule over his fringe players, the Silkmen’s second string did something the first team are yet to do this season, and come from behind to win a game.

Kyle Walker opened the scoring for the home side from the penalty spot before Aaron Chalmers equalised for the Silkmen.

The young Macc side conceded again before half time, through Roberts. Matt Towns then saved well from a late volley.

A dull second half was livened up by the final 10 minutes.

Vinny Mukendi scored at the second attempt by firing into the roof of the net, and then Neil Harvey was in the right place at the right time to help home Patrice Liburd’s strike in injury time.

Macclesfield: Towns, Perry (Askey 74), Torpey, Liburd, Flynn, Chalmers, Haicham, Millar, Mukendi, Harvey, Dennis (Beckett 68).
Unused: Thomas.
