Another one goal defeat for the Silkmen made it five straight losses as the season stutters to a close.

The Silkmen, who still need a win to ensure Chester city can’t catch them, had another fruitless day in front of goal, their fourth without scoring in the last five games.

Patulea hit the only goal of the game, heading past Jon Brain from six yards after 27 minutes. The Silkmen’s best chance came within seconds of Simon Yeo coming off the bench as he hit a goalbound volley that was tipped over the bar.

They were the main moments of note in a game of few chances, and the visitors were once again booed and jeered off the pitch.
