Port Vale Reserves 7-0 Macclesfield Reserves

A very young Macclesfield Town reserve side was beaten by Port Vale at Vale Park. The closest any of the Silkmen side had come to a senior appearance was when Vinny Mukuendi was an unused sub in an abandoned game.

Not even looking like the club’s strongest Youth Team, it was no surprise when the far more experienced Vale side opened the scoring after eight minutes. But the young side held on until the hour before conceding the second.

Five minutes later it was 3-0, with the final four goals coming in the last 15 minutes.
