The Silkmen fielded a mixed side as they beat Larne 2-1 thanks to an own goal and a Simon Yeo strike.

All the goals came in the second half as the Larne defender headed past his own ‘keeper trying to clear a corner. But the home side equalised within minutes.

The home side’s best chance came when they hit the bar from 30 yards.

But Gareth Evans’ was the architect for the Silkmen’s winner as his strike was parried only for Yeo to poach the winner in injury time.

Macc XI: Brain, Jennings, Brisley, Flynn, Reid, Miller, Hadfield, Harvey, Blackman, Evans, Yeo.
