The Silkmen fell to another defeat at Bradford thanks to a single second-half strike.

But it was a game of few chances for both sides as the Silkmen’s improved defence was often a match for the home side’s attack, whilst the Blues front line, as has often been the case in recent weeks, struggled to make an impression.

The Silkmen’s chances were few, but there were chances. The first, and the best of the first half came when Gareth Evans outpaced his defender and made his way into the box, but had been forced wide and shot too close to the ‘keeper when a cross to Sinclair may have been a better option.

The home side picked up most of the posession but were often very wasteful in the final third. Dangerous moves endind with a cross into the stand or out for a throw on the far side.

But they did go close when Nicky Law rattled the crossbar with a long range effort before half time.

the second half saw an improvement in the conditions and the match, and it was Bradford who capitalised. The home fans had booed their team off at the break as the Silkmen continued to frustrate them.

But Michael Boulding found Dean Furman on the edge of the area who placed a shot into the bottom corner.

The Silkmen’s best chance of the second half came from Lee Bell who hit a powerful free kick which Evans in the Bradford goal couldn’t hang on to. Spilling the ball two yards from his body, the Silkmen were not quick enough to react and a tap-in went begging as Rhys Evans dropped thankfully onto the ball.

a move to 4-4-2 improved matters slightly for the Silkmen and a great ball from Frazer-Allen found Sinclair in space on the edge of the box, but he attempted to bring the ball down, passing it back to the ‘keeper in the process, when a first time shot might have been more rewarding.
