The Silkmen face West Ham in the second round of the League Cup.

It is the second time the Silkmen have met the Hammers, with the Premiership side visitors to the Moss Rose for a live televised game, which they won 3-0 (but not until after the Silkmen had had a Richard Tracey goal incorrectly disallowed for offside.)

West Ham are expected to field a strong side as Alan Curbishley looks to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

They may be without Anton Ferdinand who is repeatedly linked with a move away from the club, meanwhile Mark Noble was sent off in that game.

The Silkmen will be without Terry Dunfield, missing his third match of a three match ban, and Clayton McDonald took a knock at the weekend, and may not be allowed to play by Manchester City.

The Silkmen will be looking for their first ever appearance in the third round of this competition, but with West Ham, unlike many Premier League clubs, playing the seniors, it looks to be an unlikely outcome.

But with at least 400 Macc fans making the trip down to London, hopefully it wil be as good an occasion as the Chelsea trip.

And another ground to tick off the list.
