The Silkmen were finally beaten as they visited Torquay and were beaten 1-0 by one of the form sides in the dvision.
With the Silkmen seemingly feeling it was ‘job done’ after the win over Chesterfield, it was a flat affair from the Macc side.
Jon Brain was the star man pulling off a string of spectacular saves to deny the home side – but he nearly lost out on his MotM status when Vinny Mukendi took the ball on a solo run from the halfway line but fired the ball inches over the bar from the ege of the area.
But Brainy couldn’t do it all and the home side eventually found a way past him with just five minutes to go.
The Silkmen now face a final home match of the season against Darlington and looking to go out on a high.
