Manager Brian Horton has urged supporters not to panic about the transfer activity this summer and confirmed that Tommy Lee is one of a number of players to have been offered a deal.

Speaking to the Macclesfield Express he said: ‘Tommy is one of the players we are interested in. We’ve made him an offer and would like him to accept it. But if he doesn’t there are two or three other players we are looking at.’

The news should be well received by Macclesfield fans who all believe that the club need to sign at least two ‘keepers as a priority before the start of the season.

But Tommy Lee is not the only player to be offered a deal. In the same interview Horton announced:

‘We have made offers to several players but it is still early days. Players want to leave their options open and see which other clubs approach them.’

‘It’s frustrating, but you win some and lose some when you’re trying to sign players. It’s a case of being patient. This time last year I had made most of my signings but it could be as laste as the last two weeks of June this time.’
