21 goals in just 2 matches at Accrington and Chesterfield today and then 20 goals in the rest. It`s been a bit of a surreal day in the nPower league today!

Let`s start at Accrington Stanley, whose manager John Coleman is working without a contract and is rumoured at being looked at by a desperate Lincoln City who lost their superstar Manager Chris Sutton last week. Accrington beat Gillingham 7-4, with 9 separate players registering at least a goal each. McConville put Stanley 1-0 up on 13, Gills then took a 2-1 lead with two goals from Bentley (29, 31). Parkinson then equalised 3 minutes later on 34, then Bennett put Stanley 3-2 up on 43 which is where it finished at half time. McDonald on 55 put Gillingham back in the game at 3-3, before Edwards two penalties – in two minutes – 58 and 62 to make it 5-3. All quiet for 11 minutes, before Gornell on 73 saw Stanley away at 6-3. A penalty for the Gills through Akinfenwa brought them back to 6-4 before in injury time the 3 goal advantage was re-established for Accrington through a Ryan goal. 7-4. Bentley sent off for the Gills for a second yellow.

At Chesterfield, Crewe took a 3-0 lead within 13 minutes through goals from Murphy (4), Bell (6) and Moore (13). Field`s Jack Lester blasted his first of the game on 23, whilst Alex`s Miller on 26 saw the three goal advantage back to the away side. That was it, until the last 15 minutes of the game. Lester scores again on 74, then a Whittaker penalty on 79 saw Chesterfield come back to 3-4. Donaldson for Crewe then re-established a lead on 80, before another Whittaker penalty on 89 and Clay scores on 90+2 saw the game finish 5-5. Chesterfield stay second.

Leaders Port Vale lost today at Oxford United. Craddock on 61 put United up, before Port Vale`s Owen equalised with seconds to spare of the game. However, straight away, Green gave the three points to the Us.
