Shrewsbury go top after a big boy outing at home to Rotherham. Ainsworth on 5 minutes with the only goal.

Torquay lose their unbeaten record 2-1 away to Southend. Grant and Simpson put the Shrimpers to the good at half time and despite a rally in the second half from Torquay which saw a Zebroski goal on 78 it wasn’t enough.

Gillingham scored four times away to Bury today, but still lost – 5-4 in a scintalating game. Bishop (15) and a Lowe penalty (34) put Bury up 2-0 at half time. Akinfenwa on 47 gave the Gill’s hope, but Bishop restored a 2 goal advantage on 50. Akinfenwa again on 58 saw the result 3-2, and then Spiller equalised on 59. Sodje shook the Shakers back 4-3 and then Palmer equalised for the Gills again on 66. We had to wait a life time, well 7 minutes for Lowe to finally get the victory for Bury. I’m out of breath with that one!

Chesterfield saw a victory over the struggling Imps today, 2-1. Mattis (36) and Davies (62). Ben Hutchinson (88) saw a rally late on for Lincoln, but it was too late.

A Special Constable today for Oxford, as they beat Morecambe 4-0. Heslop on 21 opened the scoring, before James Constable’s hatrick (25), (82) and (90) completing the rout.

Bradford continue to deceive their backers. Richards scored twice as Port Vale beat the Bantams at Valley Parade.

Barnet secured their first victory of the season, 3-1 against Cheltenham. The Chelts went 1-0 on 2 through Artus. 2 goals from Walsh (12), (65) and an 80th minute Marshall goal enough to give the Bees three points.

Burton Albion brewed up a decent 3-0 win at home to Hereford. Walker (27), Harrad (31) and Penn (47) the scorers.

A decent crowd at Macclesfield today, but they lost 2-0 against Stockport. Donnelly (45) and Assomani (59) bringing The Hatters their first victory in over 20 games.

Elsewhere, 1-1 draws for Stevenage and Crewe, Accrington and Wycombe and Aldershot versus Northampton.
