Macclesfield Town have performed an amazing U-turn and decided not to sack striker Kevin Townson after originally giving him 14 days? notice for an offence they described as ?serious misconduct?.

The former Rochdale frontman was given his cards for urinating in a car park, but the Silkmen have now relented after Townson took his dispute to the PFA.

The notice period has now been replaced with a fine, with the club reporting on their official website: ?All parties are keen to put this incident behind them and we welcome Kevin back to the club.?
