Macclesfield Town have signed Wayne Rooney’s brother, John, to the centre of excellence.
The 15 year old was released by Everton and the Silkmen moved to take him on.
Big brother Wayne made his Everton debut at just 16 and has featured at the Moss Rose in the pre-season friendly this season.
He is the second Rooney the Silkmen have had on their books after cousin Tommy Rooney was in the squad for a season.
The last John Rooney to spend time shooting on the Moss was the former club photographer who snapped for the programme for many years.
