Relegation Update

There are now only two possible sets of results that could leave the Silkmen needing a result at Grimsby on the final day. One clean sheet from Brain would be enough!

First of all, the Silkmen need to lose at both Bury and at home to Barnet as a solitary point will be enough to seal safety.

For the Grimsby game to matter for the Silkmen, one or other of these results has to happen.

April 18

Chester draw with Bournemouth and Grimsby beat Port Vale.

April 25 Bournemouth beat Grimsby and Chester beat Aldershot.

Or

April 18

Chester beat Bournemouth and Grimsby beat Port Vale.

April 25

Bournemouth beat Grimsby and Chester avoid defeat at Aldershot.

Should the Silkmen lose all three of their remaining games and one or other of those precise sets of results occurs, then the Silkmen will be relegated on the final day of the season IF.

Bournemouth win at Morecambe AND Chester either fail to lose at home to Darlo (if they won at Aldershot) or beat Darlo (if they drew at Aldershot).

Bury will be a tough match but I think the lads could manage a draw and I think Barnet is almost a certain 3 points so safe but don’t take your foot off yet.

i think you might have done enough so far to keep clear of the drop(JUST) but another win should see you through i think.
