Macclesfield Town will be using a new training ground as of next season after the Silkmen sealed a deal to relocate to Egerton Youth Club in Knutsford.

The newly refurbished training facility will have a new floodlit 3G artificial pitch, gym, sports hall and a range of grass pitches.

It is also adjacent to Tatton Park, which will allow easy access to long-distance running and cycling work for fitness.

The club also see it as a potential boost to the fanbase by giving the club a large presence in a town just up the road.

Keith Alexander, told the club’s official website www.mtfc.co.uk.

‘Our existing facilities, whilst okay, aren’t ideal as they are a bit fragmented. Everything we need is under one roof at Egerton. The pitches are close together. We have indoor facilities should we need them. The changing rooms are excellent. And we’ll have a self contained treatment area together with the option to feed the lads after training.’

‘So it will represent a big step forward and give us a facility we can be rightly proud of and certainly something we’re already using to our advantage when trying to attract new players to the club.’

Rick Dallimore, Chairman of Egerton added ‘We look forward to welcoming Macclesfield Town next season. It really is a win-win for both of us and we are confident that they will enjoy training here and gain great benefit from the use of our first-class facilities.’
