Macc’s youth side were narrowly beaten by New Mills FC despite a hat-trick from impressive youngster Kris Dennis.

The Silkmen were 2-0 down in the first half but Dennis hit a penalty, won by Nick Blackman, and a poachers goal from close range to make it 2-2.

The home side, who featured the brother of Ryan Giggs playing against Wayne Rooney’s younger brother, pulled ahead again to 4-2, but Dennis hit another close range goal.

It was a good workout for a side which included a 15 year old defender. Other than Dennis, Matt Lowe, a young right-back, looked amongst the best of the prospects.
