Moss Rose to Host Charity Final

The Moss Rose has been chosen to host the FA Women’s Community Shield.

As with the men`s competition, this is played between the League champions and the FA Cup winners, although this season Arsenal won ‘the double` and so they face League Cup winners Everton.

Arsenal are looking to win the competition for the sixth time in its nine year history whilst Everton will be hoping to win it for the first time.

Arsenal will be favourites for the game as the current dominant force in Ladies football, winning the League five years running, the FA Cup four out of five and the Community Shield in three consecutive seasons. They also showed their European credentials by winning the UEFA Cup in 2007.

Both Everton and Arsenal players feature heavily in the England women`s side who currently top their 2009 UEFA Women’s Championship qualification group
