A young Silkmen side featuring trialists were beaten by Marine.

Trialists Oumar Bakari and Sam Russell both featured, as did former Silkman Colin Heath, who is hoping to earn a new contract with the club.

The home side opened the scoring as a deflected shot from Terry gave Russell no chance. They made it 2-0 before half time as Young broke the offside trap to run clean through.

The second half saw good saves from both ‘keepers and Macc pulling one back.

Kristian Dennis put away a simple tap in after Danny Egan’s quality cross.

But Sam Rusell made an error late on as he missed a back-pass which led to a simple third for Marine. He did go some way towards making amends with a great save moments later from a shot which was heading for the top right.
