When you have a budget the size of the Silkmen you need all the spin you can get, but there is something in this, something akin to the Wimbledon Crazy gang all those years ago something even Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid cannot buy. Something the Wombles had all those years ago, something all spin aside the Silkmen have now.
Both sides are known to punch above their weight but it is the team spirit and the desire to more than kiss the badge that really sets them apart.
Win lose or draw they are in it to win it, but these guys play as much for the games sake as they do to earn a living from it. Certainly either Ross Draper or Hamza Bencherif fit the Vinny Jones mould, with Captain Morgan every bit as cool as Keith Curle in his prime.
Mind you when it comes to crazy, our green fingered Cape Verde jeepers keeper`s one to unseat you. Jose Veiga the cape crusader could not be more different from man-mountain Dave Beasant but then again after 21 saves in the Leicester Cup game alone suggests he deserves a cup winners medal every bit as must as big Beasant the Wombles former number one.
They do say a rolling stone gathers no Moss. Perhaps that is why the wingless wonders are winless at home, yet second only to Port Vale away from the Moss Rose.
