The Silkmen follow up the heroics of the West Ham game with a return to the bread and butter of League football.

And the Silkmen desperately need to take the form and performances shown in the League Cup into the League matches, to earn their first points of the season.

A win on Saturday would certainly build on the goodwill generated amongst the fans at Upton Park and should give the season a real boot up the backside.

But the Blues will have to do it without Izak Ried, who was controversially sent off against West Ham, and possibly Keith Alexander who also saw red, after ‘seeing red’ about Izak seeing red!

But the Silkmen will welcome back both Terry Dunfield, who has completed his three match ban and Clayton McDonald, who was cup tied for the midweek game.

Martin Gritton who was rested on Wednesday may also return.

the visitors may have a new face in the side as former Barnet frontman Liam Hatch has joined them on loan from Peterborough, but he will need to recover from an ankle injury beforehand.

This will be the 22nd occasion these clubs have met in the Football League with the current head to head standing dead level with seven wins each and seven draws. One of Darlo’s wins came in the LDV Vans Trophy, leaving the Silkmen marginally ahead on League only meetings. The last three matches have ended in draws.

Both side have also met twice in the Conference as Darlo bounced straight back after relegation.
