The Silkmen were pegged back by a second-half County goal to draw 1-1 at the Moss Rose.

With neither side really hitting the heights, the Silkmen were denied an early goal by the flag of the linesman when Simon Yeo found himself through on goal. But Tom Elliot was offside, well away from play and clearly not interfering, but the linesman was quick to raise his flag.

But the Silkmen didn’t have to wait much longer as Yeo reacted fastest to a loose ball in the box to fire home from close range.

Lee Bell then blasted a volley over the bar from a neat Elliot header across goal.

The second half saw County’s Clapham taking control of more of the game and hit the bar from a powerful free kick. Tom Elliott also forced a good save with a back header.

After a spell of dominating posession, the visitors levelled through Hamshaw who volleyed in at the far post after a cross evaded Brain’s grasp.

Both sides could have won it at the death as Gareth Evan’s curling drive cannoned back off the bar before Sean Canham powered a header just over the bar at the other end.
