The Silkmen earned their first point and clean sheet of the season against Hartlepool United.

The Silkmen’s best chance of the first half fell to Matty McNeil, who worked himself into a one-on-one situation but shot wide.

The Blues had better openings in the second period, but McIntyre’s right foot let him down as he blazed over the bar and he later slipped when he would have been clear through.

Tommy Lee had to be sharp to save a free header in the second half.
