Not for the first time this season, incompetence from the officials cost the Silkmen.

After the insane penalty that game Rochdale three points and the ‘mystery’ penalty at Luton, the borderline corruption from the officals continued as the Silkmen drew with Chesterfield.

After levelling the scores through Gareth Evans, John Rooney hit a great shot against the bar. Everyone in the ground saw the ball bounce over the line, an opinion clearly supported by the replays.

But the linesman who was 15 yards off the pace and failed to make a descision all day, missed the vital moment and the Silkmen lost two points.

The four points the officials have cost the Blues in the last few weeks (not to mention the two crucial, and incorrect offside calls at Rotherham) have cost the Silkmen enough points to now be safe.
