It was more ‘end of the season` stuff at Sincil Bank as the Silkmen finished their season at Lincoln City with a 0-0 draw.

But even that point is something to celebrate at a venue which has previously seen just one point collected in 10 visits!

The Blues finished the game cursing their finishing as well as the goalkeeping of the home stopper as they created a string of chances against the Imps – Junior Daniel, Paul Bolland and Emile Sinclair all forcing good saved through the game, as well as other chances which saw shots whizzing narrowly off target.

Clearly keen to finish the season on a high, the Silkmen had the better of the first half winning corner after corner, but were unable to make any of the pressure count. On one occasion Burch in the Lincoln goal was beaten, Nat Brown`s flick on from Emile Sinclair`s looping header found only the man on the line.

Lincoln came out in the second half having been told to make something of their final match and immediately looked more threatening. The Silkmen lucky to keep hold of their clean sheet as the Imps hit the woodwork twice within the same attack.

But at the other end it again took a goal-line clearance from Colin Daniel`s overhead kick.

A sending off seemed to kill the match when Lincoln`s hero, Davide Somma went for a headbutt on Sean Hessey with half an hour to play as the Silkmen didn`t really press to make the most of the numerical advantage.
