Tommy Lee has been released by Manchester United whilst former Arsenal man Daniel Karbassiyoon has claimed Silkmen interest.

Tommy Lee spent three months at the Moss Rose at the end of last season and was impressing the Moss Rose faithful by the time he had to return to Old Trafford.

At the time there were rumours of a possible season-long loan for the coming campaign, but his recent release by United will surely make him a concrete target for Brian Horton. The Silkmen are currently without a goalkeeper for the next season.

Meanwhile, Daniel Karbassiyoon has reportedly been interviewed on Radio Lancashire following his transfer listing at Burnley. During this interview he announced that the Silkmen were interested in his services, but that he was keen to see what other options were available.

US born Karbassiyoon began his career as a striker at Arsenal and has scored for the Gunners in a League Cup game against Manchester City. He converted to a left back at Burnley and it would remain to be seen if he would be filling that role for the Silkmen or whether he would move back up front.

Brian Horton has also been in talks with a Premier League club regarding a loan move for a young striker.
