Marvin Robinson (2) and Colin Heath scored for the Silkmen in the second pre-season game.

The scoring was all completed in the first half hour as the Silkmen got off to a scorching start to match the conditions.

First Colin Heath linked up well with Marvin Robinson to cross for the former Lincoln man to side foot volley home from close range.

Heath was on the scoresheet himself soon after as he held off a defender to control a high ball, turned and poked past the Kirkham ‘keeper from just inside the area

And before the half hour had been reached, Marvin Robinson made it three with a 10 yard side-foot after recieving the ball from a cut-back from Andrew Teague.

Teague himself and Danny Swailes went close with headers from set-pieces, but both were blocked and Colin Heath fired over the bar from a tight angle.

Half time saw Carl Regan on for Ian Brightwell, Bully replaced by Matt McNeil and McNulty on for McIntyre. This also saw Colin Heath move back into midfield.

Although the Silkmen, and indeed Kirkham, had chances, the score would remain the same.

The best of the Macclesfield efforts fell to John Miles, who did all the hard work by dazzling the defence to break into the box, before tamely shooting at the ‘keeper.

Marvin McDonald was also unfortunate not to score when played in by excellent work from Izak Reid who put in some excellent crosses and made some good runs down the right flank.

Macclesfield: Brain, Brightwell (Regan), Teague (Jennings), Swailes (Morley), McIntyre (McNulty), Bullock (McNeil), Navarro, Denny (Hadfield), Miles, Robinson (McDonald), Heath (Reid)
