Ian Brightwell has made Port Vale striker Michael Husbands his first signing for the Silkmen.

The player began his career at Aston Villa and won the 2002 FA Youth Cup. He has spent time on loan with Hereford before leaving Villa to join Southend. He was with Southend for two years but injury restricted his appearances to just 16.

Joining Walsall in the 2005/2006 season, he played only four times before another move to Port Vale at the age of 22.

In two years at Vale Park he has started 14 times and come off the bench on 43 occasions, scoring six times. He appeared almost 30 times for Vale last season, as well as being a regular in the Reserves.

Described as a very pacy forward, he was recommended to Ian Brightwell by a Port Vale scout after he has been released from Vale Park.
