The Silkmen face Hartlepool in the first home game of the new season, and will hope to put the 4-0 defeat to Darlington behind them.

Hartlepool also didn’t get off to the best of starts as they lost 1-0 at home to Swindon.

Hartlepool, like Darlington, were amongst the pre-season favourites for promotion and it should be another tough test for the Silkmen.

The question on many Macc fans lips is whether the Blues will manage to bring a midfielder into the club before the game or will Jordan Hadfield be given his chance ahead of John Miles?

  • I’m afraid you are going to have to stay bottom of the league for a few more days, we’ll take our frustration out on you tonight. No team can create as many chances as we did on Saturday without scoring two games in a row.
