The Silkmen’s third League match of the season sees them travel to Grimsby to face the Mariners.

Ian Brightwell will be hoping to build on the two draws the club have registered so far this season, with points colected from Bradford City and MK Dons.

He will also be hoping for a repeat of the attacking performance from the 3-3 draw with MK, which was highly unfortunate not to yield the first win of the season.

Grimsby have also drawn both of their games 1-1, with the League Cup finishing with the same scoreline.

Add that to the Silkmen’s two draws and the close dfeat to Leeds and a tie seems to be the form guide’s prediction.

Michael Husbands should be available after a leg injury but Brightwell may yet give the nod to Gritton, who scored on Saturday and who played more than 50 times for Grimsby between 2004 and 2006.

Dave Morley will hope to be back in training next month and Jamie Tolley will be out for the forseeable future with a bad wrist injury.
