The Silkmen’s second game of the pre-season tour to Irelans ended in victory thanks to two goals from Danny Thomas.

In a game which saw Distillery reserve ‘keeper Phil Matthews deputising for Jon Brain, who has a mild neck strain, the Silkmen won 2-1.

DT opened the scoring in the first half after Gritton chested the ball down and found the winger, who beat his man for pace before nicking the ball over the ‘keeper.

The home side equalised with a powerful header from a corner which gave Matthews no chance.

Danny T then hit his second picking up on a loose ball and running at goal before slotting past the ‘keeper to the far post.
