A young Silkmen side drew 1-1 with Buxton at Silverlands.

Andrew Teague was the only player involved who had played a senior game for the Silkmen as a side predominantly made up of John Askey’s young players bolstered by Teague and two trialists drew against the recently promoted Bucks.

Mikael Wolski and a right back by the name of Jacobs were the two on trial.

Reid’s first-half goal came from a Mikael Wolski corner which evaded the defence for the right winger to half volley into the roof of the net from just inside the area. It was a well taken goal for the promising youngster.

The equaliser came in the second half after ‘keeper Cooper took a touch too many from a backpass and was dispossesed by Aaron Brady, leaving him with a simple tap in.

Marvin McDonald had a good chance after rounding the ‘keeper but took it too wide and Egan’s quick-thinking lob with the outside of his boot was saved.

Team: Cooper, Jacobs, Jennings, Teague, Flynn, Wolski, Reid, Millar (White), McDonald, Dennis (Egan), Edwards (Rothall).
