The Silkmen face Accrington in the third League game of the season looking to get the first win on the board.

The Silkmen will be without Terry Dunfield who serves the second game of his three match ban. Loan signing Clayton McDonald, meanwhile, may come into the side.

Accrington lost key midfielder Ian Craney to Huddersfield in the week. But the Silkmen need to be wary of the ‘former player’ syndrome as John Miles and Fola Onibuje have both feature for the Stanley this season.

The Silkmen don’t have a good record at Accrington, losing 3-2 on both previous occasions.

Accrington started the season with a home defeat to new-boys Aldershot, and were beaten by Wolves in the League Cup.

Last weekend, however, their season was kick-started with a shock 2-0 win away at Port Vale.
